![]() ![]() ![]() In my opinion, if it leaks it will be ever so mild (as long as all associated pieces are in as designed condition) and yes you will need to replace the gasket at that point. I have made the same mistake you have on more than one occasion, (4 that I can remember) and I have never had an issue with a head gasket leak because of it. I assume you have already solved your problem but, regardless of what these guys have said which is mostly correct, and I am sure they will criticize me for this practice because it goes against all the technical data they have discovered in the books, in my experience I have never had an issue reusing a previously torqued and unfired gasket. ![]() So I removed the head to put it in, can I reuse this gasket or should I buy a new one? Keep in mind it was brand new when I torqued it down and has 0 hours on it. I torqued the cylinder head down before putting the front timing chain guide in. I made an enormously huge mistake while rebuilding a 2007 KX 250f today. ![]()
